Artist, Katie Cheatham

Katie Cheatham is a self-taught, part-time artist and mother of three from Baton Rouge.  She picked up her craft of painting after being homebound with a medically fragile child for two years.

“It allowed me to do something new when I was surrounded by the same and mundane.  I was able to be creative and express myself at a time when I was going through a rollercoaster of emotions.”

Cheatham specializes in still life and landscape mixed media paintings.  She focuses on capturing the beauty and joy of “all things Louisiana”.

When she’s not busy creating, Cheatham spends her time volunteering with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, the Junior League of Baton Rouge, and various fundraisers at one of her kid’s schools.
